Terms of Service for ShoujoToys.com

ShoujoToys.com is a not-for-profit site dedicated to Jennifer Maher-Bontrager's drawings/hobby. The goal of the community is for people of all ages, nationalities and creed to participate freely. To achieve this vision and goal it is necessary to define the intended use of the services provided and rules and etiquette by which the community must abide.

The most important rule is simple, play nice or leave. Everything hereafter is just details of this main rule. You are not required to be a member of this site, if you don't like the way we run our site you are welcome to leave at any time. However, if you wish to use our services you must be a member, and you must agree to our rules. It's a pretty simple choice, if you want to be a part of what we have you are very welcome to join us, but you must follow our very simple rules. Play nice or leave.

The owners and operators of ShoujoToys.com reserve the right to maintain full control over their system at all times. This includes the operation of the system, the focus of the community and any and all access controls placed on the site.

• The owners of ShoujoToys.com reserve the right to lock, delete or otherwise prevent access to any account and to any person for any reason they see fit. Methods available include, but are not limited to, deleting the membership, locking the membership permanently (blacklisting) or blocking the offending IP addresses via firewall controls.
  
  
• By using the system you realize that the system is the property of the owners of the site. Users have no rights to the system not explicitly granted by the owners and any rights given can be taken away at any time.
  
  
• The owners of the site have given special access to a limited and selected group of people who act on behalf of the owners in operating certain aspects of the site, this includes the management of users and enforcement of the terms of service and etiquette guidelines. These users are referred to as "the staff" and are volunteers, working for the goals of the community without pay.
  
  
• The owners of the site reserve the right to change the Terms of Service, privacy policy and Etiquette guide at any time, for any reason without any notice to the community other than by updating the publicly displayed document.
  
  
• The appearance of external hyperlinks and/or other materials generated by third parties does not constitute an endorsement by ShoujoToys.com of the opinions or views expressed by these third party web sites. ShoujoToys.com explicitly disclaims any responsibility for the accuracy, content, availability, currency, completeness or quality of the content contained at these sites. Further, ShoujoToys.com is not responsible for the quality or delivery of the products or services offered, accessed, obtained by or advertised at such sites. As such, ShoujoToys.com is not responsible for any errors or omissions or for the results obtained from the use of such information contained in these sites.
  
  
• In exchange for the services we provide you are required to provide us with true, accurate, current and complete information about yourself as prompted by our registration system. You are also required to keep this information current and correct as the system provides. If you provide any information that is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, or we have reasonable grounds to suspect that such information is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, we have the right to suspend or terminate your account and refuse any and all current or future use of the Service (or any portion thereof).

Freedom of expression is a valued right on this system, but the freedom does not override the freedom of others to be free from harassment or insult.

• To protect the freedom of everyone to participate in a non-hostile environment we censor all posts to our message boards. Censoring technology is not perfect and will not catch every offense. The censor is viewed as an accident filter, not a be-all solution to the problem of vulgar language.
  
  
• Vulgarities are not allowed. Vulgar language is viewed to be any language not acceptable in the presence of elementary school aged children.
  
  
• Conventions of a sexual nature are not allowed.
  
  
• Racist, sexist, harassing, or inflammatory posts are strictly forbidden. For example, talking about religion is acceptable, insulting other religions is not.
  
  
• All conversation must be of the PG-13 level. If you are in doubt if a post is acceptable or not, simply don't post it. Rephrase it, clean it up and make it safe for kids.
  
  
• The owners and operators of this site reserve the right to alter the censor at any time to make it more restrictive as necessary.
  
  
• The owners and operators of this site reserve the right to remove any post that is deemed to be in violation the terms of service.
  
  
• Users are the owners of any content posted under their account. It is their responsibility to ensure that it does not violate any copyrights, and that it does not contain any libel or slander. The owner of a post is free to redistribute their post as they see fit. Users are expected to respect the ownership of other member's posts as well.
  
  
• Using the site to distribute pornography or pirated software, information on how to obtain pornography or pirated software or linking to sites with pornography or pirated software will result in instant blacklisting. In the case of pirated software we reserve the right to contact the software developer, any action group or law enforcement agency to inform them of your actions. In the case of pornography, if the pornography is suspect to be child-pornography we will contact any and all applicable law enforcement agencies to inform them of your action.
  
  
• Using the site to distribute fan-subs (videos translated without license by the copyright holder) or fan-dubs (videos dubbed into an alternate language without license by the copyright holder) will result in instant removal of membership. Providing or linking to information on how to obtain fan-subs or fandubs or linking to sites that contain fan-subs or fan-dubs will result in your account being place on detention or other reasonable punishment. Repeatedly providing information on how to obtain fan-subs or fan-dubs or repeatedly providing links to sites that contain fan-subs or fan-dubs will result in the removal of your membership.
  
  
• Using the site to distribute virus, Trojan horse programs, hacking tools, packet sniffing tools or other programs that can be used to damage or alter operation on a computer not under your authority will result in instant removal of membership
  
  
• You may not use the site to impersonate anyone. Acting on behalf of another party without their consent will result in instant removal of membership
  
  
• You may not use the site to upload, transmit or otherwise send information which you do not have authorization to, including trade secret, proprietary or confidential information, items covered under trademark or copyright, or information gained under a nondisclosure agreement.
  
  
• You may not use our services to advertise any product, service or solution outside of our normal advertising channels. This includes raffles or contest that require any type of entry fee, displaying banner adds or links to services that provided cash or cash-equivalent prizes in exchange for clicks or new user sign-ups.
  
  
• You may not use our services to interfere with or disrupt the services provided by other service providers
  
  
• You may not use our services to collect or harvest e-mail addresses or other information about users.
  
  
• You may not use our services to "stalk" anyone.
  
  
• You may not provide information or instructional aids about illegal activities or that promote physical harm or injury against any group or individual, or promote any act of cruelty to animals.

Security and integrity of the site.

• Attempting to circumvent the security of system is grounds for instant blocking via firewall access controls and other measures.
  
  
• The owners of ShoujoToys.com own the data in the database and take every reasonable precaution to ensure the data in the database is not made publicly available.
  
  
• The owners of ShoujoToys.com own the data in the database and consider it a trade secret. Users maintain ownership of their own works, but the data as stored in the database it is property of ShoujoToys.com. By posting to our site or submitting any information you grant us a non-exclusive, permanent license to use the content you submitted in our system for our normal operations. In common English: by posting or submitting works to our site you are allowing us to show that work to anyone who views our site as long as we are in operation.
  
  
• We log every transaction to the site, attempts to connect to the server in any nonpublic manner are logged at the IP packet level to a minimum of two hosts. We frequently analyze these packet logs looking for hacking attempts, DOS attacks and other activities. We report valid offenses to law enforcement.
